In 2014 Guinea became a full member of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) – the global standard in the promotion of open and accountable natural resource management.

Governance of EITI
The Guinean Steering Committee is a multi-stakeholder group in charge of implementation and follow-up of the EITI in Guinea. It is overseen by a high-level Supervisory Council. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Mines and Geology chairs the EITI Steering Committee. Mr. Mamadou Diaby is the Executive Secretary of EITI Guinea.
Presidential Decree D/2012/014/PRG/SGG (3 February 2012) establishes Guinea’s EITI structures and process, making disclosure of information mandatory for EITI purposes.
